HOSPITALITY

Society Architecture Collective partnered with BHDM Design to reimagine Park Central San Francisco, converting it into Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa—a $70 million transformation that honors the property's central location in the vibrant SoMa district while creating a sophisticated urban sanctuary for today's travelers.

An urban retreat that celebrates San Francisco's creative spirit.

Public Spaces

Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s location within San Francisco’s arts district, the hotel’s public spaces were conceived as an “artist’s sketchpad,” creating inviting settings for socialization, creativity, dining, and relaxation. The project introduced several new amenities, including La Société Bar and Café, the addition of a Hyatt Regency Club, a marketplace, and a relocated, centrally positioned lobby bar.

Guestrooms and Corridors

While the hotel’s public spaces were conceived as an “artist’s sketchpad,” the guestrooms extend this narrative through an “artist’s loft” concept. Drawing inspiration from the hotel’s location within San Francisco’s arts district, the design reflects a range of artistic mediums and practices, creating spaces that feel both creative and residential in character.
